Casa Blanca

We were introduced to this project by a local landscape architecture firm at the time that the building of the home was completed.  Having hired a Spanish architect, the clients were looking for an “Old World” feel.

Our team worked closely with the clients and their specific requirements to establish a conceptual design, laying the groundwork for the installation. Favoring a greater level of creative input, the clients were instrumental in determining the outcome of the final product – their vision meticulously crafted by Zerra Landscaping. The simplicity, thoughtful selection and placement of the various elements combined to create a restful esthetic and a feeling of timelessness, like it had long been there.

Highpointe One

In 2008, Zerra Landscaping was introduced to the Highpointe project as a new build on a barren, treeless lot. Our client was agreeable to running with our ideas and the result was a project that pushed us creatively and yielded results of which we were extremely proud.

On our initial design, as you entered the property, you were greeted by three large stone pillars, with water playfully splashing down the sides. Deciduous and evergreen trees framed the yard, providing a feeling of privacy, yet allowing for a peek-a-boo view of the stunning cityscape beyond. Making your way view-ward, you descended the flagstone steps to the crown jewel of the project, a naturally inspired creek and falls winding down the side-yard slope to finish in a large koi pond. The creek and falls were situated just outside the windows of the lower-level entertainment area and a flagstone patio allowed for enjoyment of the pond, making for an intimate setting.

Lake Vista

This was a project that we took on in 2012. The client sought out Zerra Landscaping to reimagine and develop a large, unfinished area that sloped away from their pool and an outdoor living space.

The project entailed providing safe access to the lower level to allow for the clients to walk the garden paths below and enjoy a colorful display of perennials and shrubs. Flagstone steps and block walls were constructed to tame the slope. A flagstone patio, complete with a natural gas fire-bowl, was implemented to create a vista with which to take in the stunning views of Okanagan Lake. Plantings were selected drawing from both favourites of the homeowners as well as introductions presented by the design team.

Little Rock

In 2012, this project was introduced to us as a result of a long-standing relationship with Frame Custom Homes. The owners of this French Manor house had a desire for a grand entry to match the scale and opulence of the build. We answered by designing and implementing an impressive landscape complete with an expansive paving-stone driveway, large circular fountain and formal plantings paying homage to the country estate esthetic of the residence.

The Lake House

This extensive renovation project was the first in which Zerra Landscaping teamed up with Cohesion Land Design. In 2021, with the design process already underway, Zerra was sought out to bring the vision to reality.

A large flat lot perched above Okanagan Lake, the land was essentially a blank canvas as very little other than a large pad of stamped concrete existed in place. The client wished for, and we created, a fully appointed entertainment space, including a timber pergola, complete with misting system, lighting, large fire-bowl, bocce court, hot tub and small water feature. Rock-filled Gabion baskets provided a level of safety from the steep banks below while maintaining a water-shore aesthetic. Cohesion Land Design completed the outdoor living space with personalized and functional furnishings.

Yates Residence

In the Spring of 2008, we were contacted by the clients of this older home situated in a quiet Glenmore neighbourhood. Having achieved success in business over the years, they wanted to upgrade but not leave the comfort and familiarity of the home where they lived. With a renovation of the structure recently completed, they began to turn their attention outward.

Enter Zerra Landscaping. We designed and renovated the property to include an outdoor kitchen, a new fence and gates to improve outdoor living and enhance privacy. Treating the front yard to a colorful palette of plants, constructing a flagstone patio and a water feature, we provided increased street appeal.
